The art of putting

‘Drive for show, putt for dough’. No doubt you have heard this one a few times before but considering putting equates to between 30 to 50% of our shots on the course, it also has a large element of truth in it.

Cleveland Frontline putters

If you know your putting needs to improve and you're considering a new toy to help you with that, this is one range we'd certainly suggest trying.

It's slightly different to other putters on the market as it has two tungsten weights in the face to essentially help improve accuracy on off-centre hits.

You can see some of the different head shapes available in the image above, from classic blades to more modern, large mallets.

The whole puzzle

If you're considering buying new irons this year, have a think about how they are going to blend into the rest of your set. The idea is to have equal yardage gaps between each club in your bag so, if you are going to treat yourself, it might be worth replacing a long iron with a hybrid that is easier to hit.

Take danger out of play

The illustration here is a good example of where a hybrid comes in handy. When our driver brings danger into play and a long-iron leaves us too far to the green, a hybrid is the perfect option.

One hybrid that we particularly like is Cleveland’s Halo. You can see in the image below that it has Gliderails on the sole, which helps to improve your interaction with the turf for better and more consistent strikes. Call us on 01352 710040 if you fancy trying it out.
