Welcome to this week’s Holywell Pro Shop Newsletter. In this week’s newsletter we will revisit the competitions from last week, including the very successful Charity Day and we’ll also be looking forward to an exciting new promotion starting next week. Enjoy.

Competition news

Holywell Golf Club Annual Cancer Charity Day

Last Friday the golf club hosted its Annual Charity Day in aid of North West Cancer Research.

80 Players took part in the day and helped raise lots of money for charity. We are still totting up the exact amount, but it will comfortably be over £1000, so thank you to everyone who took.

The 4BBB competition was keenly-contested and there were lots of good scores in, but it was a pair from the last group of the day that took 1st Prize.

Trevor Eyton Cup

After a glorious week of weather, the Trevor Eyton Cup was played in some awful weather on Saturday. But that didn’t stop some brilliant scores being returned though.

Fresh off a lesson on Tuesday, Matthew Kendrick went out and shot a brilliant gross 73 for a nett 63. Unfortunately, his 63 was only good enough for second as Mark Byles also shot 63, but pipped him on a back 9 countback.

There were 4 twos recorded (£14.34 each).

Midweek Competition

20 Players took part in last week's midweek competition which was won by Jack Pilkington Jones who had a brilliant score of 29 points, winning him £18.00. Geraint Jones had the only two which also won him £18.00.

Ladies Laird

The Holywell Ladies Laird team are through to the final where they will play Denbigh GC at Mold GC on August 16th. Good luck!

1 gap, 2 gap, 3 gap, FORE!

Let’s be honest: we're greedy when it comes to our golf ball, and rightly so. We don’t want to have to choose between distance or feel; instead, we want a ball that offers us the lot so we get maximum help on every shot.
