President’s Day

Alan Williams had a great day for his Presidents Day.

The weather was a clear and chilly but this didn’t effect the scoring. Once again there were a host of good scores throughout the divisions. Congratulations to Tony Davies who had 41 points to win the Overall Prize. Congratulations to all the other prizes winners.

Overall Winner:
Tony Davies – 41 pts

Division 1:
1st Danny Williams – 40pts
2nd Mark Roberts – 38pts

Division 2:
1st Kevin Leech – 37pts
2nd Don Fergusson – 37pts

Division 3:
1st Ivor Pye – 39pts
2nd Barry Hitchin – 37pts

Nearest The Pin in two 17th:
Roger Davies - £37.50

Nearest The Pin 15th:
Chris Cummins - £37.50

There were 6 twos recorded, each worth £13.27.

Midweek Competition

It was another good turnout of 43 players and again some great scoring.

Division 1: Stephen Edwards – 28pts - £29.00
Division 2: Marc Parry – 26pts - £29.00

Stephen Edwards and Geraint Jones were the only players to record a two each winning £14.50.

Captain Pro Challenge – Dunham Forest

Last Friday myself and the Captain went to Dunham Forest to take part in the Captain Pro Challenge.
This is an event that is run every year by the PGA and is a better ball format.

The Captain and I had a thoroughly enjoyable day at Dunham but weren’t fortunate enough to win the trip to Majorca. We did however finish in a very respectable 3rd place with a score of 43 points.

Mid Wales Pro-Am – Aberdovey Golf Club

On Thursday, Myself, Paul Newton, Tim Saunders and Stephen Edwards took the long drive down to Aberdovey GC to play in their annual Pro-Am.

We were treated to absolutely perfect conditions, the weather was glorious with hardly a breath of wind and the course was in superb condition. As a team we took a while to get shake off the car journey but put up a fight on the back nine to come in 9 under par. Tim played well for a level par round and I manged to score 1 under, finishing 4th in the pro’s event.

Overall it was a brilliant day!

Denbigh GC Pro-Am – Sunday 23rd September

I am looking to take a team to play in the Denbigh Golf Club Pro-Am on the 23rd September.

Setting your sights

How many times do you find yourself lining up your shot and thinking "this is about an 8-iron from here to the pin", only to find that you end up 10-15 yards short of the hole?
