Welcome to this week’s Holywell Pro Shop Newsletter.
It has been another busy week at the golf club and for myself personally with the arrival of my son Max. I’d like to start firstly by thanking all the members that have sent messages of congratulations to Sophie and I on the arrival of Max. We are both overwhelmed by the amount of emails, cards and presents we have received in the past week. We both feel very much at home at Holywell GC and that’s down to the support of the members. Thank you!

A tricky day for scoring...
Last Thursday the qualifier for the Sullivan Trophy took place. On what proved to be a tricky day for scoring David Hughes came out the winner of the qualifier with a score of 36 points. Well done to all those that qualified and good luck in the knockout stages!

Much the same come Thursday...
Thursday also saw the third Midweek competition of the year take place. Conditions didn’t ease after the Sullivan Trophy Qualifier and scoring was again around par. Congratulations to Ant Hitchin who won with a score of 23 points (12 Back 6) from Ben Thomas and Tony Kalacouski.
There were no twos recorded, so they will rollover to this week.

A blessing in disguise!
On Saturday 105 members took part in the playing of the Jubilee Trophy. In last week’s competition Mike O’Boyle snapped his driver on the first tee in the act of hitting a shot. Whilst his driver was away at PING getting repaired, I let Mike borrow one of the new PING G400 Drivers and, after getting to grips with it during the week, Mike went out early on Saturday and scored a fantastic nett 65 to win the Jubilee Trophy. Congratulations Mike!
1st Mike O’Boyle – nett 65 2nd Danny Williams – nett 66
Prizes will be awarded on Prize Night.

Growing the game!
Every week during term time there will be FREE junior coaching available to all junior members. If you have a potential junior member in your family, please bring them along to a session to see if they enjoy it and, if they do, junior membership starts from £30.00 a year. The sessions run on a Wednesday evening from 5pm to 6.30pm and all equipment is available to borrow. It would be great to grow the Junior section and help secure the long-term future of the club.

We can 'Price Match'
As you are aware the shop at Holywell is smaller than we would perhaps all like and because of that I am not able to stock everything for everyone. I am however able to order pretty much anything anyone would want and at competitive prices. Where possible I always price match the internet and sometimes be even cheaper. So, if you can’t see what you want in the shop please ask me and I will endeavour to do my best to get hold of it for you. |

Many of you ask for our advice when buying something new in-store, so we thought we’d showcase our top shoes for 2018 in this week’s newsletter. Drumroll, please… |
| FootJoy DryJoys Tour | Follow in the footsteps of tour stars like Adam Scott and Henrik Stenson and try this FootJoy DryJoys Tour. We’re fans of its traditional look and waterproof leather uppers, plus we love the stable hitting platform its cleated outsole provides. |
| FootJoy ContourFIT | If you prioritise comfort, we think this FootJoy ContourFIT shoe should be at the top of list to try. Its features include an achilles pad to keep your foot secure, an extra thick insole for extreme underfoot comfort and a spacious rounded toe profile. |
| FootJoy Pro/SL | If you’d like to add off-course versatility to your shoe options so you can go straight from work to the course, this FootJoy Pro/SL is one popular option thanks to its lightweight comfort, smart leather uppers and durable spikeless outsole. |
